Great question! The annual cost of a full-time senior game designer/developer now exceeds $130,000, with the added union red tape of paid leave, benefits, and sick days. The obvious alternative is to hire a paid-by-the-hour freelancer and face an inconsistent and unknown number of hours at the end of each invoice; which could be anywhere from 50 hours to 100 hours of work.

With a monthly plan, development costs are fixed and consistent.  You receive a better standard of high-quality work, without the extra headache or nasty surprises.

The development software used for your games and projects is Unreal Engine, JetBrains Rider, Perforce (or any other method you prefer for source control), and the Adobe Suite are also used for delivering your objectives.

Absolutely not. There are unlimited objectives included in every plan, queue as many as you'd like, and they will be delivered one (or two) at a time.

Objectives are set in a shared Trello board, where you can keep track of the status of each of your objectives through labels like 'active', 'done', and 'waiting'. You can communicate objectives in any way you wish so long as it is supported by Trello, with options such as a short video, audio byte, or written brief.

Google Docs, Notion, or any other such platform works too. If it can be linked to or shared in Trello, then we can work with it.

That depends on your subscription! Most if not all objectives will have a clear estimated deadline attached to their card in Trello, with any changes to that being clearly communicated. More often than not, objectives are delivered within 48 hours.

However, in high traffic times it can be anywhere from 72 hours to the end deadline set by your plan (for example, 1 week on the Pro Plan).

Each plan offers unlimited revisions! Simply send it back with notes and/or a short video explaining what changes you want made, and it will continue to be worked on until you are 100% satisfied. The beauty of an asynchronous system is the ability to go back and forth until we nail what you’re looking for.

Developd does not typically cover 3D animation (although scripting in Unreal is covered), 3D modelling, complex graphic design, advanced materials and post processing. However, if you have objectives that are outside the normal scope of work, there will be clear communication to find an amicable solution, whether that be to aide in finding a specialist or otherwise.

Calls are typically designed for going through a specific objective or expanding on your desired outcomes. At each interval (depending on your plan), you will be able to book a free call. Unused call hours stack up to 6 hours across each month. Outside these parameters, further calls are billed by the hour. The number of call hours you have available can be seen in your Trello board under 'Client Stats'.

Yes! If you are unsatisfied with the work at any time within the month (or quarter) and do not wish to use any of the high-quality works done for you in any way, you are eligible for a 100% refund. Simply send an email to clients@developd.au and request a refund to start that process.

I sign NDAs with all professional clients and as such I cannot divulge direct project content until large-scale public release. However, projects that have been cleared for public release can be found on the projects page. Examples of work can be seen via the DevBlog and marketplace assets. Additionally, for those looking into the Studio subscription, reference calls with existing clients are available upon request.

Everything you need can be found in your Client Portal. You can find this quickly by heading down to the bottom of any Developd page and clicking on the 'Client Portal' to be taken to your subscription management page. If you run into trouble, you can also send an email to clients@developd.au.

Cancellation is as simple as sending an email or navigating to the Client Portal to manage it from there.
